Orihuela Costa
Orihuela Costa is the most popular area for tourism within the southern Costa Blanca region. Its wonderful beaches, many facilities and its amazing houses make it the perfect destination for either as a holiday or for a long-term stay. There are several regions within Orihuela Costa, all of them have great places to visit; such as astonishing beaches, popular bars and restaurants and amazing views. The most popular beach areas in Orihuela Costa are: Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Villamartin, Dehesa de Campoamor and Mil Palmeras.
Location
Orihuela Costa is located between Torrevieja and Pilar de la horadada, at the end of the Costa Blanca South. If you’re traveling by road it has an easy access from the N332 which is the main road from Alicante and the airport. There’s access through the freeway AP7 with an extra charge. The nearest areas of Orihuela Costa to Alicante airport are Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, Cabo Roig and La Zenia whereas Villamartín, Dehesa de Campoamor and Mil Palmeras are nearer Murcia airport.
Using the Public Transport is not recommended as the buses only stop by the main points of the areas but if your hotel or apartment is located far from the bus route, the journey can become complicated and stressing. The best choice is to rent a car and drive around the areas to get to know all the beautiful places within Orihuela Costa.
Areas in Orihuela Costa
Playa Flamenca
The coast area of Playa Flamenca covers 172 meters of white sand and it’s very busy during the summer. The urban side of Playa Flamenca is full of restaurants, houses and things to do where you will never get bored!
Punta Prima
It’s the most northern point off the coast. Orihuela Costa ends in Punta Prima. It has plenty of bars and restaurants as well as rocky bays and beaches to enjoy the perfect journey.
Cabo Roig
Cabo Roig is located at the south of the Costa Blanca, it’s known to be the jewel of the Costa Blanca area. There are plenty of luxury villas and wonderful houses and apartments in Cabo Roig.
Cabo Roig has a marvelous sea walk to enjoy the beautiful views of the sea and it’s a perfect point to stop for a meal at the restaurants, pubs and bars, each of them offering a wide range of varieties, from typical Spanish food to the most international cuisine. This area is one of the favorite ones for tourists during the summer.
La Zenia
La Zenia is located near the main road N332 and has beautiful apartments and restaurants along the area. The main beach at La Zenia is very famous and visited by tourist all around the year. The Shopping Center La Zenia Boulevard is also located in this area which offers plenty of options for shopping as well as restaurants and bars to spend your shopping day there.
Villamartín
It’s one of the most popular areas to enjoy playing golf. It has 2 golf course championships and attracts many golf lovers to buy properties around this area because of this. This area started developing 10 years ago and today has become one of the best places to live and to rent your holiday accommodation. It’s 40 minutes from Alicante airport and 20 minutes from the airport in Murcia.
Dehesa de Campoamor
This area is full of exclusive green areas and it’s the perfect choice for spending your holidays here. It has an excellent reference for cultural and leisure activities.
This area is surrounded by luxury villas, apartments and beautiful houses near the beach which represents an excellent choice for tourists and long stay visitors.
Mil Palmeras
Next to La Dehesa de Campoamor we can find the area of Mil Palmeras. This area offers beautiful beaches, rocky bays and sea views and we can also find plenty of apartments, hotels and luxury villas nearby. Mil Palmeras is very near Pilar de la Horadada although it belongs to the city of Orihuela. You can enjoy the night life and leisure in Mil Palmeras by having a nice meal in one of the restaurants in the area or having a pint in one of the pubs near the seaside.
